Would you call yourself cultured?
Here are some tips to get you there

Time to get cultured.
It will not only inspire you, it will give you new knowledge and insight of the world.
By being cultured, we develop our knowledge, social awareness, politeness and it can make us feel happier. It develops thinking skills, builds self-esteem and improves resilience.
Let's go and in no particular order…!
Visit an art gallery.
I recently visited The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition. A collaboration of many eclectic artists and designers.

I also went to Frameless in Central London. Such a magical display of art inspired at its finest. We felt enveloped in an immersive experience of meaning, colour, music and imagery. It was partly an interactive experience.
Artists included Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Dali, Rembrandt, Klimt, Monet and Cezanne. Thought provoking, innovative and a chance to really think outside the frame, boundaries or the box!

Go to a museum that have a subject of interest to you.
It could be an inventor, creative place, a certain time period, jewellery & watches, archaeology, anthropology etc. The selection is endless. Whatever interests you. Look more, explore more, understand more.
My favourite is the Guggenheim Museum which I visited when I was in New York. I am fascinated with the structure of the museum and the fantastic spiral staircase (photo below).
Incidentally, the museum has the world’s largest collection of Kandinsky (see photo from my visit to frameless above). And many paintings by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and Joan Miro, to name a few.
The Guggenheim Museum is arguably the most important building of Frank Lloyd Wright’s late career. Frank Lloyd Wright is my favourite architect of all time! A modernist building, unique in its architecture, and of interest to so many visitors each and every year.

Look at the architecture around you.
Find out more about the buildings around you and explore the detail. Wherever you live and in whichever country, inspiration is around you. We recently travelled to Turkey. The authenticity of the buildings and the detail were really beautiful (see photo below).

Learn a new language.
I have the busuu app which is fantastic for learning. I tend to learn some of the language of the place I am visiting beforehand. It is always useful to know some key words and phrases.
Travel!
If you get the opportunity to travel, do it. There are so many wonderful places to visit. Whether it is different places not too far from you or if you get to travel to more places around the world, really integrate all your senses in the experience.

Try some new cuisine or flavours.
This could be in a different place you are visiting or at a local restaurant you haven't tried. You can buy some foods and spices that are different and catch your eye in the supermarket. Find some recipes online to combine new foods and spices.
