Happy home, happy you!

It's the interior designer here!

We all want a beautiful home to live in.

My background is in interior design. I did a degree at the Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design at London Guildhall University and gained a BA first class honours degree.

I have worked on some exciting projects over the years. I have designed for 5 star luxury hotels, for bars, restaurants, offices and some beautiful homes & apartments. I have a specific, real passion for bringing light and colour into spaces and most importantly in the home.

Take this wallpaper here. I worked with this wallpaper company in many of my interiors to create some magnificent effects. This downstairs toilet lacked excitement, it was dark and dingy. Wallpaper has given it light, colour and grandeur. It makes you feel cheery and happy.

Think about how you want to portray yourself and look at ways to bring that positivity and colour & texture into your home. Use colour in your home as a ‘superpower’ for your life. I love yellow and orange tones. They bring out my happy side! Green is a very on trend colour for the summer and going into the autumn.

Here are a few design recommendations to bring some joyful colour into your home:

  1. Invest in a beautiful bright piece of furniture. A bright single chair in your lounge to place next to your sofas or an exuberant chaise lounge in your bedroom can look so lovely.

  2. Put some bold wallpaper in a downstairs toilet or in your bathroom like the example above. Tropical or flower prints add a splash of excitement and brings the outside in which adds beauty and light.

  3. A reasonable and easy way to bring colour into your home is to look at how you can accessorise. A beautiful, bold rug under your dining room table, colourful cushions on your lounge sofas or a statement mirror (that looks different in colour and shape) in your kitchen can really create an impact, bring in more light and an illusion of more space.

  1. Fill your home with plants and bright flowers. Adding colour and nature inside.

  2. Find an unique piece of lighting for a space in your home in a different shape or bold colour that with add texture and be a feature in the room. Between floors in a space choose a tiered light feature for a beautiful, striking focal point (see photo at the bottom of article).
