The Power of Visualisation
"Believe it, Create it"

“For something to become reality, one first has to picture it"
Visualisation is a powerful tool to use to help you reach the levels and the goals you set yourself in life.
Visualisation is the practice of imagining what you want to achieve in the future. As if it were true today.
It involves using all five senses of sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing.
The process of visualising directs your subconscious to be aware of the end goal you have in mind.
By picturing it, you are able to see yourself achieving it.
It reminds you on a consistent basis. And it trains your brain to respond as if that outcome were true in the present moment.
Novak Djokovic spoke about this profoundly after his French Open Tennis Final win last Sunday. He is now one of the most successful male tennis players of all time having won 23 Grand Slams titles so far in his career. With his Parisian triumph, the Serbian became the first man to win all four Majors at least three times. He will also regain the World No.1 ranking this week.
I am a big tennis fan and I was watching the match and his winning speech live. What he said really resonated with me.
“And I just want to send a message out there... Be in the present moment. Forget about what happened in the past, future is something that is just going to happen. But if you want a better future you create it, take the means in your hands, believe it, create it’" he expressed.
“Visualisation is an integral part of my preparation before every match: every season, for that matter. For something to become reality, one first has to picture it in one’s mind, to see it happening,” he said.
He continued: “I’ve experienced it so many times in my life: visualisation is just another confirmation of how powerful we are as human beings, but it needs to be worked on”.
This visualisation tool is a method we should all be using when wanting to achieve something whether it is small or fundamental. Even if you don't consider yourself particularly good at visualising, here are some steps to help you to use it with great results. It needs time, persistence and practice.
Djokovic is by no means alone in doing this. There are many other people who take on this practice to success.
Here are some tips to aid you along the way:
Write down about what you want in detail. The more detail you put in, the more your vision will become real. You should include all the 5 senses. And as you dream becomes realised, you'll be more motivated to follow through to make the outcome happen. Keep adding to the relevant details until it feels as if you are living the experience.
Imagine the emotions that will be connect to the outcome. One of the most powerful parts of the visualisation is the emotions that you attach to it. The more you can feel what it'll be like to accomplish the goal, the more you'll believe it can be attained and what to get there. And then the more likely you'll be to work towards it effectively.
Put in the effort to get to your desired results every day. The more proactive you are, the better. There may be hurdles or things that get in the way of your desired outcome. Imagine how you would deal with them and continue focusing to get to your goal. The most influential visualisations are those that are the most real in our minds. We should use the power of the subconscious to take us through.
Give yourself the time to contemplate your visualisation every day.
Give yourself the time to contemplate your visualisation every day. Be in a relaxed, focused state before you start.
Make it a priority and visualise twice daily for a total of 10-15 minutes. The best times are in the morning as you wake and the time just before you go to sleep. At these times you will engage the subconscious the best in your focused effort toward your desired result.
You should aim to close your eyes to aid concentration and imagine the desired outcome with all related senses and emotions.
Write down your desired outcome as if it's true in the present day.
Write down your desired outcome as if it's true in the present day. Be sure to write it down. Read it in the morning and at night. Keep it to hand.
You can take it further by creating a vision board to give your vision more context. Find objects and photos that represent your vision. Have it where you can see it.
The more focus, the more vision and therefore the more success!
