10 ways to shift your mindset

You have got this!

Do you lack fulfilment in your life? Most people are looking for a more fulfilled and happier life. You need to identify the goals to get you there. Whether it is goals for business, home, family or self improvement, setting your mindset for success is the key to make things happen in your life.

Here is how to get you there and change your mindset for the better-

  1. Write a list of what you are grateful for- this could be even a few items and then build it up over time. When you are feeling negative, read through it so you can refocus. It will give you clarity and reassurance.

As an extension of this, writing a journal is good for clarity of thought and self belief. It can help you come up with life solutions as well.

The writing element of this is important. We can all think about it but it is the act of pen to paper that is the valuable part.

  2. Find a regular positive and empowering podcast to listen to- it can give your life direction and depth. Search on key words such as, “positive", “motivation”. The mindset mentor podcasts are an interesting listen.

  3. Find a class on a new topic- There are lots of ways to think beyond your normal limitations. I am going to a process art class later this week. It is an opportunity to use different media to create a piece of art and there is no expectations as to what the final piece will look like. Exploration and experimentation is key. I will tell you more about this experience in next week’s article.

  4. Learn to speak to yourself more kindly - keep it positive and focused. “I am grateful for the time I have today to..” Negative self talk like saying “I was so stupid to do that”, “what was I thinking” only hinders you from getting on with what is important in life.

  5. Create an inspirational things list - there is lots of beauty and interest around us. Look around and try and start by writing down just 2 things that you see when you are out and about that can give you meaning.

Carry a small notebook around with you and write down the things that interest you, inspire you. You could date when you write them down, although this is not essential (good for future reference). This can be places, an object, a pattern, an idea or even something someone has said that empowered you (into action).

Simply writing these things down or draw them and you will instantly feel a sense of passion and fulfilment for life and its beauty.

In the same vein, you can have a folder for positive feedback from colleagues, friends and in my case, from you readers so thank you! Keep it coming!

  6. Go outdoors - the importance of fresh air is paramount. Whenever and wherever you can get outside. I enjoy finding new places to visit with my husband and family that gives us an opportunity to see beautiful places, scenic views and wonderful discoveries. There is so much to discover if you open up your horizons and it doesn't need to be far from home.

We recently visited a reservoir only 15 minutes from our home in the middle of a forest. In the water, we found fish swimming in the open. There was something very tranquil about them. We also love to visit the coast. There is nothing more calming than the sound of the waves and the sand between your toes is both fun and relaxing at the same time.

Sunlight helps your body to take in more vitamin D which is important for your body and health as well. Walking is good exercise and great for your wellbeing.

  7. Design an effective morning routine - kick start your day right! Find yourself some me time - a quick jog, read a book, make yourself a hearty breakfast, practice mindfulness. This will often set the tone for how you feel for the day. It may require you to get up that little bit earlier.

  8. Set your weekly priorities - at the beginning of the week set your priorities for the week in order of urgency and importance. See article https://lisajosephlifecoaching.beehiiv.com/p/motivating-mind-mapping for more information. Tick them off as you do them. This will give you a feeling a self satisfaction when you complete each task!

Be sure to include some self care within this list as well. Attend a dance class, go out for a coffee with a friend. More ideas from my article below: https://lisajosephlifecoaching.beehiiv.com/p/self-care-important

  9. Sleep well - getting effective sleep is essential to make you productive. Keeping to regular sleep patterns is better for your health and provided the hours are sensible will give you the routine energy you need. Create a wind down routine for bed. See my article https://lisajosephlifecoaching.beehiiv.com/p/energising-exercise (at the bottom) for more details on how to unwind before going to sleep. Getting adequate rest will have a profound impact and how you think and feel.

  10. Book a session with me- set your goals with me. WhatsApp me so we can start a few sessions to get you on the best path for you. And don’t delay!

Whether it is goals for business, home, family or self improvement, I look forward to hearing from you.

Life is good,
Lisa
